Description
Rare lightly cleaned original industrial early twentieth century medium-sized soda fountain pressure gauge by Jas. P. Marsh and hand operated carbon dioxide (Co2) regulator valve by The Bastian-Blessing CO. The circular gauge contains a nicely aged and well-preserved cast brass bevel with a sunken clear glass face protecting the instrument's face. W style pointer measures the psi gauge from 0 to 100, and the dial face measurements are printed with central text that include manufacturers name Jas. P. Marsh Corporation Skokie, ILL, MADE IN USA. The Jas. P. Marsh Company was founded in 1865 in Skokie, Illinois as a producer of industrial instrumentation. The gauge is attached to a The Bastian-Blessing Co hand operated valve. Charles Bastian and Lewis Blessing started the Bastian-Blessing Company. They were employees of the Liquid Carbonic Company that had been founded by Jacob Baur in 1888. Liquid Carbonic had been the first midwestern company that produced liquefied carbon dioxide for making soft drinks. Bastian and Blessing left the Liquid Carbonic in 1908 and started their own company, where they manufactured soda fountains, carbonators and brass goods. Looks to be 1930'sIn excellent vintage condition. Gauge has not been tested.
