    Description:
-Bullet pencils were originally made from spent rifle cartridges in the early 19th century.
-Cartridges were collected off the battlefield, cleaned up, and manufactured into cheap writing instruments
-Around 1914 they switched from their original mechanical pencil type to the short “regular” pencil
-The United States began making their own version in the 1930s and continued through the 1950s.
-However, manufacturers used pieces of aluminum, brass, or other metals into a bullet shape rather than using an real bullet casing
-We couldn’t get one of the “bullets” uncapped
-One of the pencils has a plastic cap, rather than metal
-The body of the pencil is made of plastic
-Each pencil advertises a different stock yard, all three companies are members of the livestock commission
-Still in business, the Commission operates as part of the farming industry, and, among other things, they handle
Specialty Animal Sales, Farm sales, and grade and yield auctions
