"Here are the drawings of all the state flowers placed together in alphabetical order to complete a quilt. Some of you have only saved the patterns for future reference or to give away, and some have been embroidering each one as they appeared until they have that part finished. Perhaps you have even put them together in sections and quilted, say, four or six blocks at a time, so that these sections will only have to be sewn together for your finished quilt. This is a modern trick, devised by the smart young woman of today whose house will not accommodate those huge old-fashioned quilting frames."
