    Quilter's Large Ironing Board Pattern

    Or you can custom size your board to meet your needs.
    Even if your not a quilter, this board is just what you need for ironing large items.  It fits on your existing ironing board and if you need to remove it to iron clothing, it just lifts off.  It only sets on the ironing board and is not permanently attached.  There are supports underneath so your board does not slide.  I have mine on a cheap ironing board and the weight of the plywood makes it stable.
    I have given you the instructions to take to the lumberyard and have them cut the boards for you.  Or if you have the equipment, you can do it yourself.  I had the lumberyard cut mine and after that part is done, the rest is easy.
    The cover is stapled to the back.  I find this much better then having a removable cover.  Doing it this way allows you to get a nice tight finish with no wrinkles. The covers last for years and when you need to recover it, it's easy to remove the staples and recover it.   I've had mine for over 10 years and I've only recovered it 3 times.
    This is not a pattern out of a magazine.  It is a pattern just like the ones you buy in a quilt shop.
