New, American Optical, Original Pilot Style Sunglasses, 55 mm Lens, Gold Frames

This auction is one (1) pair of new, in the original box, American Optical, Original Pilot, style sunglasses.
The manufacture date is May 2021.
Military Specification: Model #  AF81611-G
55 mm gray light weight polycarbonate lens, 140 mm earpiece, 23k plated gold frames.  100% UV protection.
Lens color: grey-3. These are NOT polarized.
Polarized lens are fine if your cockpit uses older analog gauges, but they can sometimes make it difficult to clearly see the newer glass cockpit gauges.
Most civilian models curve around the ear, which makes for a secure fit, but makes using them with earphones or flight helmets difficult.
These use the straight bayonet style earpiece which can easily be put on or taken off while wearing headgear.
The size 55 mm lens are a comfortable, snug fit for most people.
Larger lens sizes like the 58 mm seem overly large and can slide down you nose unless you have a rather wide face.
The glasses come with the carrying case, and lens cleaning cloth which shows a blueprint style drawing of the original glasses.
They come in the original box as shown in the photos.
American Optical glasses have been issued to the U.S. military and our allies for decades.
The crew of Apollo 11 wore these style glasses during their historic mission to the moon in 1969.
