Four Star Fountain Porcelain Ice Cream Shop Sign (HSE) Borden Company 1946 Large

Welcome To Jack's Stuff Emporium, where you never know what you'll find. Up For sale Jack has this Large Four Star Fountain Porcelain Ice Cream Shop Sign, by the Borden Company. Sign is marked as such with the year 1946 in the lower right hand corner. This is a large sign, 56" wide by 15.75" tall. It was made it be mounted on the marquee or overhang of the store. It is 3" deep. The Borden Company trademarked Four Star Fountain in 1938. I know that there were several shops located in California in Placerville, Oakland, San Mateo and elsewhere. I do not know where this one was hung, but it was purchased in Central California. This is a rare sign. It is difficult to even find a picture of one, but I have seen the one that was located in Placerville, which was a larger sign than this and in two parts. Weight of this sign is 19 lbs 11.8 ounces.
