Description

This is an American Soda Fountain Co. (
successor to Charles Lippincott)
soda fountain "syrup dispenser". These were the world's first "pop machines", so to speak. It offers 10 syrup flavors and 3 different types of water. The 4 fancy glass-holders are silver plated as are the long spoons which, believe it or not, also serve as
straws
!!
It's comprised of 4 colors of onyx -- milky, brown-tinted, green-tinted, and red. The tilted mirror, which enabled the soda jerk to chat with his or her customer as he or she prepared their drink is flawless. The light shade is original period stained glass. The silver plating is very good throughout. The ice cream colored paint on the top section looks to be original and is in extremely good condition. The 3/4" slate interior has been replaced with 3/4" wood so as to make the unit much, much lighter. The old zinc liner and water coil have been discarded as they would never have passed inspection were this dispenser put to use as it originally was. The gorgeous marble-topped & marble-skirted - milk-glass-faced, oak store counter goes with it at this price. We've greatly reworked the piece to make it far easier to disassemble & reassemble and to SHIP. The base is 6' wide by 2' deep by 32" tall. The dispenser is 78" tall and 44" wide, so -------
on THIS base
, the entire setup stands a whopping 110" - or - 9' 2" tall.
We're also listing a bunch of great billiard items including billiard trophies and several mostly pre-1900 cue
racks. Click the "see other items" button above to see what all else we're selling in the way of genuine antiques, including a bunch of better furniture.
